My Synology Gear

This is my Synology gear:

At the moment I own two synologies, but I am planing to buy a third very soon.

Synology DS713+:

Synology DiskStation 2-Bay (Diskless) Network Attached Storage DS713+

and my backup unit is a Synology DS216+:

Synology DS216+II NAS DiskStation, Diskless

For Hard drives, I use Western Digital 3TB Red NAS and I have 5, 2 for each NAS and a spare in case a hard drive goes down.

Love this disks, In my 713+ NAS I have had them for 10+ years and no failures yet.

It is important that you choose the RED CAVIAR NAS as the disks will be running 24/7 if you are powering a website from your NAS.

WD Red 3TB NAS Hard Drive – 5400 RPM Class, SATA 6 Gb/s, 64 MB Cache, 3.5″ – WD30EFRX

You can also buy the NAS as a bundle (NAS and disks). In this case, make sure you buy it with the red caviar drives on it. You wont regret it!

And my latest acquisition: A synology DS918+:
Synology 4 bay NAS DiskStation DS918+ (Diskless)

Equipped with 4x10TB WD Red Drives:
WD Red 10TB NAS Hard Drive – 5400 RPM Class, SATA 6 Gb/s, 256 MB Cache, 3.5″ – WD100EFAX

Which I upgraded the RAM to:

Crucial 16GB Kit (8GBx2) DDR3/DDR3L 1600 MT/S (PC3-12800) Unbuffered SODIMM 204-Pin Memory – CT2KIT102464BF160B

I also have the Synology router which makes managing your network and configuring your VPN painless and easy:
Synology RT2600AC Wi-Fi AC 2600 Gigabit Router

If you decide to buy from one of these links, so will be supporting me and this blog and I thank you for that!
