Scan you Synology for virus- Antivirus Essential

I installed the Synology Antivirus Essential, but I have to admit that I have never done anything with it. Quite silly, right?

Last week I got an update, so after it was done, I checked the app.

Let’s take a look.

On the overview tab, you can check the status of the scans.

Let’s look at Update first, you need to make sure that your virus definitions are up to date:

Next Schedule scan. Yes, you can schedule virus scans like on any computer:

To schedule a scan:

  1. Select the type
  2. the date and save:

On the settings tab you can specify:

  1. What to do with the infected files
  2. Select files you dont want to be scanned
  3. Specify which types of files to be scanned
  4. and Update the virus definition before scanning

If you move the files to Quarantine, you can view them here:

And finally, you can review the status of the scans:
