This article will show you how to create a google analytics account and the tracking code needed for your site.

1. First of all you need to create a Gmail account if you don’t have one.
2. Once you have your gmail account go to Google Analytics site and click on “Access Google Analytics”

 

3. You will be required to sign in with your gmail account:

 

4. You will be asked to fill in your account details an will have to log in again:

 

 

5. Click on “Sign up” to start customizing your account:

 

 

6. If you will track a website, click on “Website” otherwise click on “Mobile” if it is a mobile app. Click also on Universal Analytics because everybody will be migrated there , so it is not really an option:

 

7. Fill in the following information:

• Website name: Give it a name you can differentiate from others, ex: WordPress tutorial
• Website URL: Write the URL of your site. ex http.//name.synology.me/wpTutorial
• Industry Category: Select from list
• Time Zone: Select your country and finally click on “get tracking ID”

 

And you will be directed to the tracking code:
