Set up email notifications in Synology NAS DS713+

Your NAS can send you email notifications to alert or inform about changes: back up notifications, connection failure, etc.

 

To set up the email notifications follow the step-by-step guide:

1. Click on menu button synology NAS menu button

2. Click on control panel contol panel synology button

 

3. Click on “Notifications” in the “System” section of the control panel:

4. Configure the email notifications. The example is with a hotmail account:

  • SMTP sever: smtp.live.com
  • SMTP port: 587
  • Primary email: add your hotmail email account
  • Click on “Send a notification mail to the new created user” to test your account and click apply

For Gmail Users:

  • SMTP server: smtp.gmail.com
  • SMTP port: 465
  • Add your username@gmail.com and your email password.

For Yahoo Users:

  • SMTP server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com
  • SMTP port: 465

For Apple Mobile Me.com Users:

  • SMTP server: smtp.me.com
  • SMTP port: 587

5. Check your hotmail and if everything has been done correctly you should have an email from your NAS.
